It’s a Jeep Baby Thing

First comes love, then comes marriage,” so the saying goes, “then comes the baby in the baby carriage!” So what do you get when a Jeep Guy falls in love with and marries a Jeep Girl? A Jeep Baby!

When I was pregnant with Peanut, I loved the idea of maternity photos. A sweet friend of ours is an amazing professional photographer, so I knew exactly who I would ask to capture our maternity memories forever in film. Megan Hardre of Megan Hardre Photography immediately said yes, and we set the date for late May. Because of time constraints, we did two separate days of shooting – one outside, and one inside Peanut’s nursery.

When thinking about what I wanted for our photos, I considered our hobbies, our values, and what life and love meant to us. So naturally, I wanted the Jeep included. 🙂 After all, I was eight months pregnant, and leaving for a weekend of Jeeping in Moab two days after our last shoot!

The day of the shoot was a gorgeous late spring day, and we drove exactly two minutes from our house to the Red Rocks Open Space in Colorado Springs where we had our pictures taken. We discussed our ideas with Megan, and then got started.

We had a great time laughing, posing, and getting in some silly shots, too.

And some romantic ones…

But can you guess what the most memorable ones were? That’s right, the ones with the Jeep. Peanut has never had a stage of life, born or unborn, that she wasn’t around Jeeps. Yup, this one’s a born Jeeper.

  1. Thanks so much for sharing your pictures!! I have been wanting to take some jeep maternity pictures but needed some inspiration! (And I wanted to gain a little bit more weight first- my maternity pictures will be to prove how big I got because no one believes me from the last time!)

  2. You’re welcome! I, too, had to wait until I was bigger…I believe I was 34 weeks when these were taken. Peanut was born at 36 1/2 weeks, so I’m really glad we had them done when we did!

We would love to see how yours turn out, Monica! Make sure to post them on our Facebook page! 😀
